We are seeking a dedicated College Support Officer. Within this pivotal role in the college, you will be working in the heart of our campus and will be key in maintaining good standards of student behaviour and working collaboratively with our safeguarding and welfare team to ensure students safety and wellbeing.

About the role:

• To promote positive student behaviour, by being a visible, approachable and reassuring presence on campus
• Work closely with the safeguarding and welfare team in ensuring the safety, security and wellbeing of students.
• Be proactive and confident in talking and approaching students to encourage college expectations being met.
• To react to calls for assistance, deal with any situation that may arise including conflict resolution. 
• To deputise for Security Manager during periods of leave. Including attending meetings as appropriate
• Provide the security manager with both verbal and written reports on relevant matters that may escalate.
• To ensure training is up to date with current guidance.

Essential Experience:

• Experienced in de-escalation techniques to resolve difficult situation
• Demonstrable experience in confidently dealing with challenging situations
• To have the ability to manage and liaise with other stakeholders, discreetly and respectfully
• Building positive communication channels
• Experience of working in the public sector or educational environment

Essential Qualifications:

• SIA accredited
• CCTV qualification(or willingness to obtain)
• Level 3 safeguarding qualification (or willingness to obtain)
• Required to undertake First Aid qualification
