We are seeking a Technician Instructor to join our team. In this role you will support the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment by providing expert technical instruction, practical demonstrations, and specialist support across the curriculum area. Working closely with teaching staff, they will assist in the development of learners' practical skills, technical knowledge, confidence, and professional behaviours through direct support to individuals and small groups.

The postholder will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and managing safe, well-equipped, and industry-standard learning environments, ensuring that equipment, materials, and resources are available, fit for purpose, and compliant with health and safety requirements. They will contribute to the effective day-to-day operation of the provision by delivering responsive technical support, maintaining high professional standards, and working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the learner experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and the promotion of a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment that enables learners to achieve their full potential and prepare successfully for further study, employment, and their chosen careers.

Part Time - 22.2 Hours per week, 40 weeks per year.

About the role:

• To deliver technical skills demonstrations and provide technical instruction for student groups.
• To prepare materials and equipment as needed by teaching staff and students in a timely, effective and efficient manner.
• To maintain an effective and timely stock control system of materials and consumables including the ordering of stock/materials/equipment.
• To effectively and professionally liaise with teaching staff to ensure students’ needs are met within practical delivery sessions.
• To maintain workshops, equipment and tools to the highest standards ensuring statutory requirements are met.
• To provide classroom support and technical guidance for teaching staff and learners
• To contribute to and or oversee practical, community or college projects ensuring high standards of work are maintained at all times.

Essential Experience:

• Knowledge and experience of up-to-date industry legislation.
• Experience of maintaining equipment associated with relevant sector
• Industry experience within relevant sector.

Essential Qualifications:

• Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject or equivalent industrial experience
• Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent
